Hi! Founding principals Cami and Ryan here.
With over 30 years of combined design experience we co-create healthy, thriving places that stand the test of time. Our approach is built on long-term relationships, in-depth research, and a dedication to craft.
We are collaborative, resourceful, artful, and hands-on.
Cami was born and raised in rural Washington; she spent her formative years helping her father sort scrap metal and curated a deep appreciation for the graciously grungy nature of working landscapes. Cami’s strength lies in her compassion for others and a fine-tuned attention to detail.
A keen observer of the world and its inhabitants, she relishes on-foot exploration. The pace allows for intimate observation. With a thirst for knowledge, Cami is often found with her nose in a book.
An avid cyclist, runner, and strenuous hiker, Ryan is passionate about learning of places and people first-hand. Through his travels, regionally and abroad, Ryan has developed a strong sense for design and its meaning.
Ryan thinks with his hands, always making loose sketches of ideas with his collection of thick, gestural pencils. Good design starts with bold strokes. “I love sketching because it’s the raw expression of the idea that drives its physical construction.”
Rachel’s love of landscape began as a child sweating in her mother’s garden and daydreaming in the shade of the gambel oak groves near her desert home. These influential experiences gave her an appreciation for different types of nature and a desire to be rooted within them.
She believes in the interconnected nature of all things, seeking balance and harmony in her work. With no shortage of imagination, Rachel explores many creative pursuits including whimsical sculpture and functional ceramic works.
Growing up in a small town on Whidbey Island provided Gini with a lifelong appreciation for the natural and cultural patterns that contribute to a sense of place. She spent her childhood exploring rocky beaches and forests by foot and horseback, finding freedom in outdoor spaces. She firmly believes in the power of open space to strengthen a sense of place and foster generations of land and community stewards.
Gini has a strong understanding of the regional plant palette and natural systems of the Pacific Northwest. Influenced by fine art and the detail of craft, she is interested in finding ways to bring high-level conceptual design thinking to practical applications in the built environment. Outside of work you can find her making something - whether in her garden, sewing, or painting!
